Introducing Starbucks VIA™
It is a proud day for Starbucks UK, as we are launching Starbucks VIA™ in all of our stores nationwide. We have spent years innovating and perfecting this coffee, so that you will never be without great coffee again.
Starbucks VIA™ is made with the highest-quality, ethically sourced 100% arabica beans (the same high quality as all our coffee). The finely-ground roasted coffee literally brews in your cup when you add hot water. It’s an easy way to enjoy the great taste of Starbucks coffee when you’re not near a Starbucks store.
We think Starbucks VIA™ tastes as good as our fresh filter coffee – don’t take our word for it though, come and join us in the Starbucks VIA™ Taste Challenge this weekend (12-15th March). We’ll be comparing our freshly filtered Colombia against Starbucks VIA™ Colombia – will you be able to tell the difference?

I’m so excited for this! The lovely staff in the Covent Garden store kindly gave me a free smaple with my Grande drip this morning. Can’t wait to try it!
would be great if you manage to perfect the latte in an at home style. or make more starbucks in Grimsby so i dont have to go into town daily. or just pay my parking everyday……
awesome..i cannot wait…no more starbucks withdrawal…
Had a sample through the post and liked it. Wasnt a strong as I thought it would be.
Can’t flipping wait to try this! I spend a fortune at starbucks, by the time I have driven to, paid for parking and brought a cup. I would love the possibility of it being cheaper and tasting the same!
Thanku starbucks!!
Hmm, sorry to say that I’m not thrilled about this VIA. Had a sample on the post today.
this morning at a hotel I had another instant brand coffee so was excited to taste Starbucks VIA hoping for a brewed taste that beat the competion instants.
But unfortunately not
( Couldn’t tell one instant from another.
Back to brewing my own in a Press.
i cant wait to get something free from starbucks finally
i have never tryed starbucks befor this is a good opertunity
this is a good idea for people to try the product to see if they like it before they buy it
Latley I have been disappointed by the taste of Starbucks, and stopped going to the stores… so maybe a new taste will draw me back…
)
I got my free sample in the post today and wasn’t that impressed. Yes it was a good cup of instant coffee, however, I was expecting a bolder taste (it said bold taste on the packaging, I kept waiting for a bold taste and nothing happened. It was nice, and I would drink it again but for Starbucks coffee I felt a little let down with the flavour.
I would not go for a coffee where you need to pay for parking….that is utter nonsense and dumb. coffee is just a coffee starbucks or whatever…. doesnt make you more intelligent or special. unless you want to showoff your wonds and things.
stupid idiots who do that.
Had a sample in the post yesterday and tried it before work this morning. Thought it was alright – better than the Nescafé instant muck we have in the office. Presumably if there’s no noticeable difference in taste between this and the stuff served up in Starbucks, though, we can look forward to coffee in our local branches being reduced to the cost of a sachet of instant coffee, right?
Sorry, but the new VIA stuff tastes like tar to me!
Had a sample in the post on Monday and tried it as soon as I could. Just wanted to say that I was amazed at how nice this coffee was. Really tasted like it had been brewed to order and yet looked like fine instant powder. Don’t know how you managed it but it is genius. Only thing is, will I be buying it when it means that a cup of coffee at home costs more than 40 pence a cup…not sure it’s that good!

I went into one of the Leeds branches this morning to give it a go, and the staff weren’t letting people have it! Apparently it “wasn’t ready”! It took a lot to get that far. (There were some sachets on the counter, and we asked if they were the “free samples” and were told “no”. When we asked how to get them barista shrugged her shoulders and didn’t know what we were talking about, until we pointed to a sign behind her inviting you to try out the Via! So I am very disappointed in the (lack of) service and knowledge in Starbucks today. Hopefully, I will get to try this new drink soon.
Tried it out at the Trafford centre yesterday after drinking a cup of filter coffee, very impressed, so much so that I purchased a small packet to try at home.
I have had a cup first thing this morning and it tasted as good has a fresh brewed cup I normally make.
A little expensive if you buy them three at a time(£1.20)but, will be very useful at work.
Welldone
it’s good, i love it
but why on earth would i measure out 177ml of water? thats just silly.
Just posted my views on VIA and the marketing of the launch as a whole to my blog. From both my experience and the comments on this blog it seems as if the weak link in all this has been the staff levels if interaction within the stores. i.e. People not being available for the test straight away “my experience” and from some of the comments people flat out refusing or not giving out vouchers without a purchase. Overall though it is a great product and I’ll definitely consider buying it next time around.

Very dissapointed at the Starbucks I visited yesterday, they hadn’t a clue about giving me a free taster and a free cup of coffee to boot… I thought what a great way to market a new product, what a shame when you take up the offer… well, try to take up the offer you cant, and clearly it is nationwide this problem… Get a GRIP Starbucks, we dont expect such poor service from soneone like you…
I am sold on the coffee and buy it in your stores ……… when are you going to sell it online ? Coz there is no Starbucks near my house
Feel the same about it not being a real coffee taste – still an instant coffee.
Ive just tried the Italian roast and it was quite good. However can anyone tell me why the inside of the pack has “hotel stay” printed on it – have I won something?
I think it tastes great! I am a Norwegian supporter of Starbucks, having lived in North America.
You should definitely have distribution in Norway, a nation of coffee drinkers. I’m an MBA with a socially responsible distribution company geared towards retail, and would love to help you out over here.
Pls email me, and we can talk
When are you going to sell Via in a jar? it is pretty expensive in the little packets and when serving coffee to a crowd, it would be much easier to serve it from a jar just as we are able to do so with other brands
